9th Chinese peacekeeping force to Mali returns home

China's AG600M firefighting aircraft makes maiden amphibious flight

WUHAN, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- China's AG600M, a full-state, new-configuration amphibious firefighting aircraft, had a successful maiden amphibious flight on Monday, according to the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC). The new-configuration aircraft taxied into the water from an airport in central China's Hubei Province before taking off. It then landed safely in a water reservoir following an 18-minute flight, said AVIC, the country's leading plane-maker. During this maiden flight, the amphibious aircraft conducted multiple flight test missions and it was in good condition, AVIC said. The AG600M amphibious aircraft made its maiden flight from the ground on May 31. China completes test of reusable, sub-orbital vehicle

BEIJING, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- China successfully completed the test of a self-developed, reusable, sub-orbital vehicle on Friday. The vehicle was launched "vertically" from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the northwest of the country, according to the China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology, the developer of the vehicle. The vehicle was lifted off after inspection and maintenance. It was its second launch. The vehicle then completed the sub-orbital flight in accordance with the set procedure and landed "stably and horizontally" on the Alxa Right Banner airport. MINUSMA Chinese engineering detachment returns to Gao after ten-month task in Menaka
