PLA Air Force unveils new aircraft at Airshow China

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force has unveiled an array of new aircraft at the 13th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, or Airshow China 2021, which opened Tuesday in the southern port city of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province. Aircraft put on show included two J-20 stealth fighter jets, China's new electronic warfare aircraft J-16D, and a new high-altitude reconnaissance drone, WZ-7. The Y-20 heavy transport aircraft and some other major battle equipment were also displayed at the show. The PLA Air Force is working in line with the strategic requirements of integrating air and space capabilities as well as coordinating offensive and defensive operations. China's Chang'e-4 completes 1,000 days on far side of moon

The lander and rover Yutu-2 are in good condition. The payloads aboard are also working properly and will continue the scientific exploration on the far side of the moon. As of Wednesday, Yutu-2 has traveled 839.37 meters and obtained 3,632.01 gigabytes (GB) of data. A lunar day is equal to 14 days on Earth, and a lunar night is the same length. Currently, the lander and rover have been switched to dormant mode for the 34th lunar night due to the lack of solar power. The Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center will continue to publish the latest findings of the probe. Chinese military holds joint tabletop exercise with UN peacekeeping forces

BEIJING, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- A joint tabletop exercise of peacekeeping missions is being held in Beijing by China's Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the UN Department of Peace Operations. Running from Sept. 23 to 30, the exercise is comprised of theoretical orientation, case studies and review. It engages around 70 participants in assessing and discovering best action plans for peacekeeping missions including armed patrol, civilian protection, emergency response, logistic assistance and civil-military coordination, in-person or via video link. China opens Shenzhou-12 return capsule at ceremony

BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- China held a ceremony Monday to open the capsule of the Shenzhou-12 spacecraft which carried three astronauts back to Earth on Sept. 17. Space officials, including Hao Chun, director of the China Manned Space Agency, and China's first astronaut Yang Liwei handed over the items taken out of the capsule to various representatives. Hao said that the Shenzhou-12 crewed mission included more than 10 projects such as space breeding and biological space experiments. China, Hao added, has always attached importance to the development of international projects and contributing to the national economy and people's livelihood since the establishment of the country's manned space project. Shenzhou-12 was launched from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on June 17. China steps up efforts in finding martyrs' relatives

BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- China's veteran affairs departments have so far successfully found the relatives of 6,350 martyrs, according to authorities. This is the result of China's renewed efforts in locating the remains or burial sites of martyrs and finding their relatives, said the Ministry of Veteran affairs. To locate martyrs and find their relatives efficiently, the ministry is furthering cooperations with governmental departments in charge of household registration, data and information, as well as historical research institutes, in order to cross-check relevant materials. When identifying newly-found remains of martyrs and matching them with relatives, technologies such as DNA comparison and big data also come into play, according to the ministry. Chinese military opposes British warship's sailing through Taiwan Strait

CCG cracks major cigarette smuggling crime worth 170 million

109th Mekong River joint patrol begins

KUNMING, Sept. 21 (Xinhua) -- Law-enforcement authorities from China, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand joined forces Tuesday for the 109th Mekong River joint patrol. Three Chinese vessels departed Tuesday morning from Guanlei Port in southwest China's Yunnan Province for the four-day patrol, the Yunnan provincial public security bureau said. At 10:08 p.m. (Beijing Time), Tianzhou-3 completed a computer-orchestrated rendezvous and docking at the rear docking port of the Tianhe core module. The whole process took approximately 6.5 hours, the CMSA said. The Long March-7 Y4 rocket, carrying Tianzhou-3, blasted off at 3:10 p.m. from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in the southern island province of Hainan.
